A 30 page, high quality, storybook album, and a preview book for under £660....
Brian Anderson Photographer
With around 30 years experience in the photographic industry, I understand that financing a wedding will drain your resources pretty rapidly. With this in mind I have had a total rethink on how I price my wedding photography services.
This means my prices are much more transparent, and, I believe, probably the most competitive that you will find.
Here's a question for you.. How much does a high quality wedding photograph album cost?
Time to blow a few myths away... If I tell you I use one of the country's top pro labs and they can produce a high quality 10" x 10" 30 page (15 spread) album for just a tad over £170, would you believe me?
OK, that said, here is another question... How much do you pay your garage, plumber, joiner, electrician.. per hour? When your car needs attention, the garage lists all the parts used seperately, this allows you to see excactly what you have been charged for the time they have spent on your car.
A wedding is a little bit different, there are lots of variables. I now charge a flat rate for the complete wedding photography service, this includes a pre-wedding "walk through", photography on the day and all of the post wedding production.
For me the average wedding, if such a thing exists, is walk through 2.5 hours, photography a full day including an evening slide show 11 hours, and post wedding production including the time to build your album 5.5 hours. Total of 19 hours then... So if I charge on a par with other trades...£23 per hour not unreasonable, maybe even a little cheap! £437. In the present climate, things are tight so, for weddings booked this year for 2010/2011, to ease the cost a bit, I'll give you the walk through at no cost, round the wedding day down to 10 hours charge, irrespective of how long it may be, and knock off the odd half hours.. that then makes the total time 15 hours. This makes my charge £345.
